Dan Richards was One Direction's guitarist. He is also a composer and teacher based in London.
Background[]
Dan Richards is a graduate of the London College of Music with a Masters Degree in Popular Music Performance. He has over a decade of experience working in the music industry. As a session guitarist and composer, he has worked with artists like David Milligan and Jamie Abbott, as well as serving as a bandleader and resident guitarist for Thompson Mediterranean Cruises.
Dan worked as One Direction's guitarist for four years, performing with them on all their sell out tours between 2011-2015. He has also appeared on various TV programs including The X Factor, BBC Children In the Need and the Teen Awards. Dan featured on the b-side of the One Direction single "One Thing" with an acoustic rendition of the title track.
When not on tour, Dan can be found working on his own solo projects, as well as teaching at various musical institutions and writing for Matchbox Music. Dan endorses Taylor Guitars, Black Star Amps, D’Addario Strings and Planet Waves Cables.
