Lyrically, the song describes themes similar to Only Angel, in that the narrator appears to be in a chaotic relationship with a woman.

Styles said of Kiwi: "It's fun. This started out as a joke and now it’s one of my favorite songs. It’s one of the first songs I wrote for the album, when I was getting out a lot of energy. I hadn’t written in a long time and this is what came out of it".
