On November 17, 2014, the band announced a new song, "Once In A Lifetime".
In 2017, Liam Payne revealed he would've most liked Once In A Lifetime to have been an official single. He told Rollacoaster Magazine: "It is my favorite song. Very Coldplay-esque. I wanted it to be a single but they just wouldn’t have it. It was really relaxed the way we chose our records and made things. It was really simple."
